10 Things I've Learned From My Blog

I've been blogging for a few months now and here are just a few things I have learned.
  1. I have learned that I really like doing things perfectly the first time. The concept of learning from my mistakes is something that my blog is helping me to do. Somehow, I thought that right away I would be perfect at writing, editing, increasing traffic, etc. Not. The. Case.
  2. I have learned that I can be really obsessive. Case in point: checking my traffic statistics every day, multiple times a day.
  3. I have learned that I am quite insecure. If I don't get any comments on a post, I feel lame. Really lame.
  4. I have learned that I compare my blog (that's been around for a whole 3 months) to the success I see others having and think that's what I should have already. Failing to remember that they probably didn't have hundreds and thousands of followers in a day.
  5. I have learned that I will create projects and make recipes with the sole intent of getting to write about them here!
  6. I have learned that it is important that I write sincere and honest things. My family and friends read my blog and I want everyone to know the real me.
  7. I have learned that just because I haven't met someone in person, doesn't mean they don't inspire and encourage me. Thank you to all my followers and commenters. Your time on here truly brightens my day and I hope that someday I can meet you in person.
  8. I have learned that I really need help from my husband. He encourages me to write what I enjoy and tells me I'm doing well even if I don't feel like it. He proofreads almost every post and helps me consolidate my words. He also makes my site look amazing and he does it all without complaining.
  9. I have learned that slow growth is the best growth. Last week, I found out that it is very important to save each picture I post with its own unique name. If not, the last saved picture with that name replaces all the others. Anthony fixed all of my pictures for me. It took him all day. If I had had a huge following, I would have learned that mistake in front of a huge audience instead of just a few.
  10. I have learned that I really enjoy writing things I'm not required to write about and this place in cyberspace is my home to do so.
Thank you so much for reading.
