The Little Things

It's Friday and I always enjoy writing about something a little different on these days. This week I saw that someone I follow on Instagram liked a picture of a cute pregnant lady. I clicked over to the picture and saw that this woman was craving a peanut butter and bacon sandwich. Anyone who likes peanut butter and bacon is someone I need to get to know better. So, naturally, I clicked on her blog and began reading (err stalking).

Each week, Lindsay hosts a link party, where you can share the little things that were a blessing to you and made you smile. I'm grateful for these "little things" this week:

Attending Sacramento's Concerts in the Park with my cousin, Rachel. Having her company was a huge thing, the little thing I'm happy about is that I got to introduce her to the beloved Gypsy Mobile Boutique and the Food Trucks!

Rachel is my inside agent for the happenings with teenagers. She's one of the most sincere and responsible young people I've ever met. To tell you that I'm grateful for her would be a HUGE understatement.

Another little thing this week, was attending a bridal shower and having a striped dress to wear to the party! The shower was a few hours away and I had the pleasure of carpooling with two of the other bridesmaids in the wedding. Getting to know Nicole and Mistylena was another blessing.

Rachel helped me accessorize the outft! (she's a fashion insider too)

The woman who hosted the shower was such an encouragement to me. This plaque was hanging in the bathroom and I had to snap a picture of it.

Sunday was Father's Day and my Aunt Becky brought over this old picture of my Grandpa with Rachel and Hannah in Monterey. Seeing their little faces was a fun little thing. Rachel is the blonde with the starfish. I love the happiness in this picture.

I had a wonderful conversation with my Grandma and Aunt Becky. Lately, I've been learning firsthand how to trust God. Surprise, that's my word for the year and I'm learning what trust looks like! After our talk, Aunt Becky sent me a message that included this picture:

It's a quote from Jesus Calling. The thing that encouraged me most, was that Jesus is calling me and drawing me closer to Him. What a great thing to remember.

As I shared last week, my sister-in-law, Brianna recently got married. To help fill the void of her moving out, my mother-in-law, Donna, got a new puppy, Taylor. She is an adorable little Rottweiler, who I'm sure will grow in to a big Rott. If you're scared of these dogs, please visit my in-laws. Donna spends lots of time training and raising the Rotts to be sweethearts. They're some of the most well-behaved animals you'll ever be around.

(Cooper is the big one, Taylor is the little one)

P.S. That purple maxi skirt was only $9, a little blessing!

Another little thing this week, was taking a Free Motion Quilting Class at Sew Katie Jean. Melody taught me how to quilt in a fun way that doesn't require straight lines. As you quilt you just move where you want to go. How fun!

I'm looking forward to counting more little things this weekend, like spending two whole days off with the Hubster, and spending time with my cousin, Beth.

What little things are you celebrating this week?

Don't forget to enter the earring giveaway!

It is a blessing that I passed my inspection so I can become a registered childminder (in the UK). It means that I get to stay at home with my boys and be a business woman all at the same time!!! Going self employed is certainly making me trust in Jesus to look after us too x
